Spinosaurus is a genus of a theropod dinosaur, which belongs to the family of Spinosauridae that date roughly 100 to 94 million years ago. Spinosaurus was named for its “sail-black” feature, created by tall vertebral spines. They are the most enormous known carnivorous dinosaurs. They had a 1.75m long skull, 14-18m body length, and weighed around 12,000- 20,000 kg. 

 In 1915, the original Spinosaurus fossils were discovered by German paleontologist Ernst Stromer in Egypt. A British aircraft bombed the museum, and the fossils were destroyed in 1944. 

 After that second species, S. maroccanus, was found in the Kem Kem Basin of Morocco. This is the primary reason that these spinosaurus fossils are rare.
